He asked me to find a really powerful opponent to take on Candy.  Somebody experienced, who would be able to handle instructions.  I said I knew just the girl - a Mexican girl that I'd had some dealings with in the past who could be trusted to follow a plot.

Then he said he wanted the fight to be strictly private.  Only the fighters should be present with him and his wife.  This is where I disagreed.  I felt there had to be a Ref. a couple of corner girls and a medic present.  Also I thought it was foolish for him to show his face at ringside.  Eventually I persuaded him that he and I would stay in the camera control room and that we would run the fight by my terms.

Four weeks after that meeting I met Mr & Mrs Big at the rear entrance to the Pit and took them up to the control room.  Here we could see the action from the ring on four big TV screens linked to remote control cameras in the Pit itself.  Mrs B was wearing a loose fitting gown which I guessed she would be stripping off when she decided it was time to enter the ring.

Once we were settled I pressed the button to the PA system and called down to the Referee to start the show going.  Laura, one of our most experienced Referees, stepped into the sharply angled spot light to announce the fight.
