The ref started her introduction with the usual welcome
and then she asked Cherie the obvious question: "We heard rumours that you had been forced to retire from the ring, because of the facial injuries that you suffered in your last fight. Is there any truth in that and if so what has brought you back out of retirement?" Cherie's frank reply I think surprised everyone: "Actually the injuries weren't from the fight as every keeps saying, but from a car accident I had a week after the match. I have had several operations from inside my mouth to fix the broken bones in my face. The surgeon has advised me to never fight again, but now I need the money to pay the medical bills. So that is why I have agreed to this body blow only match." |
