Agrippina looks down from the top of the arena as the two
gladiators make their salutes. She has been living in Alexandria
for 2 years and in all that time she hasn't seen any games as the city
hasn't had an arena until now. She now has a husband, but he serves with the legion in southern Egypt so is away most of the time. With time to spare she keeps herself fit by sparring regularly with the fighters at the gladiator school. But she longs to fight in the arena again, not with weapons like the gladiators in the arena now, but in unarmed naked combat at which she was a champion. Now that this arena has been opened she hopes she will be soon have the chance to feel the thrill of fighting before a crowd again. |
