He isn't worried about Maggie losing - he guesses that a loss in this fight will actually earn them quite a lot of money as all the betting will have been on Maggie to win. But Maggie doesn't like to lose however much money they will make, so she ignores Jan's question and instead concentrates on getting some strength back to have another go at escaping. |
